The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Polygraph Examiner to support our pre-employment process. This position is responsible for conducting polygraph examinations and interviews, interpreting results, and preparing comprehensive written reports for Human Resources and Investigations personnel.
In this role, you’ll also review background materials, prepare examinees, engage in pre-test activities, collaborate with relevant staff, and ensure proper documentation and equipment maintenance.

The pay for this position is $48.0770 per hour.
Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience performing polygraph examinations. Conducted and completed at least one hundred polygraph examinations and polygraph reports.
Ability to obtain national polygrapher certification.
Completion of a minimum of thirty continuing education hours in coursework related to polygraphy within the past two (2) years. Certificate and/or proof of completion is required.
Must complete a minimum of thirty continuing education hours every two (2) years in coursework related to the field of polygraphy.
Must maintain a national polygraph examiner license in good standing with the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ (ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ) or American Association of Police Polygraphers (AAPP).
Schedule:
The Polygraph Examiner position is considered temporary, with an expected schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, though additional hours may be available depending on workload. While there is no set end date at this time, we do anticipate an ongoing need for this role.

Part-Time polygraph examiner needed for in Northern Virginia.
Northern Virginia Polygraph Services is the leading private polygraph company in
Manassas, Virginia. We conduct pre-employment and specific examination for a
number of law enforcement, fire jurisdictions in the area as well as private
examinations. NVPE&PS has been in business for over 32 years and is owned
by a retired law enforcement officer and former ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓÆµ School Director. We are
seeking a Virginia polygraph licensed part time examiner, preferably with law
enforcement polygraph experience. This is the perfect position for a retiree or a
new examiner looking to gain experience in this specialty area of polygraph.

The Charlotte Fire Department is currently seeking a part-time Polygraph Examiner to support our pre-employment screening process for entry-level Firefighter Recruits. This contract-based opportunity is ideal for a seasoned examiner looking to play a critical role in helping us evaluate entry-level candidates for integrity and suitability for public safety service.
Position Overview:
As a part-time contractor, you will conduct pre-employment polygraph examinations during a designated phase of our bi-annual hiring cycle. Services are expected to begin as early as November 2025.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed Polygraph Examiner in the state of North Carolina
- 10 or more years of experience administering polygraph examinations
- Strong understanding of legal, ethical, and procedural standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with public safety agencies
- Current or former member of a law enforcement or fire/rescue agency
